Well today wraps part two of this trip. Kilimanjaro… check, Safari… check. Yesterday we went to a Maasai village. They decked me out in Maasai clothing and made me chief for the day. Went inside several of their dwellings made of what we would call adobe. The lands they are on now are so parched and dusty. There is an osais for the kids though. About 320 children attend the O’Brien school for the Maasai. A beautiful school that is not unlike some of our classrooms in Cowley Hall at UWL. We also did some singing and dancing, rather interesting. They even got me to join.
For today, it’s hang by the pool for a few hours then off to the airport later this evening to meet some travel weary folks 😉
See you in Mwanza
